It is the only real five star hotel in Stockholm. Do you want style, elegance, comfort, position and most of all service then Grand Hotel Stockholm is your obvious choice.

Originally in one building, built in 1847, today it is divided between 3 attached buildings.

I recommend also if your not staying in the hotel to go for their teatime, a bottle of champagne of just enjoy a business breakfast and enjoy the people and the views of the cattle, the boats and the old city.
Location
Cant get any better than this. Ships docking infront of the hotel take you out to visit the famous Archipelago.
Amazing views of the old town and the castle. Shopping street at 5 min walking distance so as all the main attractions of the city.
Rooms
They have 11 categories of rooms so be careful when booking! I recommend the 4th floor and a nice Deluxe Room with view towards the old town and the castle. The ones looking on the inside have a very sad view, if non at all.

The bathrooms in the renovated rooms are very spacious and have a nice and elegant design. Only thing i found bad for the category of hotel is very few amenities and not really nicely presented just lying on a small white plate.

The rooms as you can see are quite spoil, Scandinavian minimalistic design applied to a classic hotel I would say. It has elegant and classical color schemes. They could have added som decorations on the wall to make these rooms less cold and impersonal.
Floor 4 is the must to book. The newest to be renovated.
Lobby – Design – Common areas

As you step in your are met by a grand staircase. On top the lobby area with a very small check in counter and the concierge desk. The concierge service is not the best i`ve tested. Not really experienced and often very young boys not over there 25 years of age i can guess….staff is a issue in Sweden.
Dining
Dining at the Veranda is a pleasant experience. Good and professional staff at the table. Good food and the view is just one of the best you can get when in Stockholm.

The Candier bar is nice for afternoon tea, a bottle of Champgne with friends or just having breakfast. One of my favorite places in Stockholm. Here you pay the same prices as any other 5 star hotel in Stockholm but you get service and also some thing more. Lack of service in Stockholm is the industries biggest issue but Grand is the only that can guarantee it up to a certain level. Do not expect Shagri la level of attention when there you wont get it in Sweden.

There is also a 1 star Michelin restaurant called Mathias Dahlgren, the name of the chef. Ego queen 😉

Good food but not worth the price. A bit overrated. There are better places in town. But if your tiered from traveling and don´t wont to adventure out in the city this is a good choice as long you are willing to pay much more just for that michelin star…
Spa & Gym
The spa is called Nordic Spa and offer a inside door pool, massage cabins and other smaller jacuzzi, steambath in the changing rooms.

The Gym is very small and not equipped with everything a todays traveler might want from 5 star gym.

Plus
-Service,service, service. The best you can get in Stockholm.
-Nice newly renewed rooms. Book floor 4!
-Great restaurant at the Veranda.
-Good champagne and wine cellar.
-Cosy but small spa.
Minus
-Very few and poor amenities of the Molton brown collection. They need to improve that and the presentation.
-Food smell often in the corridors…
-Too small and poorly equipped fitness center.
-Concierge service sometimes staffed by very young and not experienced people. Relay on your agent for tips or just contact me when visiting Stockholm 🙂
